| Probably the longest post ever, so be prepared to read a novella!!! Here’s what has been going on in my life for the past few weeks. There will probably be another one of these in about 2-3 weeks because I’m going on another vacation starting this Friday—woohoo!!! June 19-20 work my butt off trying to get stuff done at work in Clarksville. June 21 Try and get work finished, drive to BG, pack, drive to Nashville, take plane to Orlando, get picked up and ride to Satellite Beach, FL. June 22 Pack everything into the car again and road trip across to the gulf side of Florida to Sanibel Island for a Family Reunion. For dinner we had a potluck of Lebanese food (fun stuff)—kibbee (sp?), grape leaves, hummus, etc. Then we went out to the pool, had a few beers, and got to know some of my second cousins that I had met once before when I was like 12. June 23 Lots of volleyball, laying on the beach, a trip to a local bookstore, and then ended with a dinner hosted by the resort (with an open bar!!!—grab all the drinks you can now). After, all the leftover drinks were taken to one of the 1st generation of cousins room (but that party was kind of boring), so I went down and played conga (crazy game) with my first cousins (while drinking of course). Go figure, our family is so competitive that the question (how many inches can you jump backwards?) turned into an actual competition to prove it, and to see who could jump the farthest. I love my family. (Sadly I didn’t know about the after party with people my age that was apparently crazy fun—sad day—maybe next reunion in 3 years or something like that.) June 24 Brunch together hosted by the hotel again, and then laying out at the pool getting to know my second cousins some more. And wishing I could stay like 4 weeks longer just to get to know all of them (I have a really cool family you have no idea). Plus I’m finally old enough to remember their names now, so hopefully we can just build off of what we learned by the next reunion. Then drive back to Satellite Beach (Atlantic side) and go bowling with my cousin Mandy!!! Fast lane bowling is insane. Your whole lane is in a competition to score what the big screens say before it changes (if it says 5, knock only 5 pins down in the frame, if it says strike, get a strike—this will earn a certain number of points). It was so much fun, and being the competitive family we are, My older brother, Mandy, and I came in third place, sadly, only first got the pizza. Crap. June 25 Load up a Uhaul (technically a budget truck) and start driving towards home. Stopping for lunch and dinner, and then to sleep at about midnight (just past Chattanooga). June 26 Make it home, unload uhaul, watch Jeff get the majority of his tattoo finished (very nice I might add—he’s a trooper, 5 straight hours). June 27-29 Back to working my butt off in both Clarksville and on the 29th in Bowling Green as well. June 30 Finish up the work in Bowling Green and start driving down to Florida again with Luke, Kindra, and Kathryn this time around. (Showing up at our hotel at 5:30 in the morning FL time). July 1 Sleep around for a while go to Ron Jon’s surf shop in Cocoa, eat amazing Mexican with Mandy as well, and then Bowling again. Yeah this is meant to sound perverted, but I enjoyed two passionate screws with my cousin Mandy, what can I say we’re close—ha ha ha, they are drinks—really good ones at that too. Bowling was fun once again, but sadly, I ruined our hope of getting on the top 12 by throwing the ball too early which caused the lane to be stopped for a good 5 min. of our 45 min. time limit (I’m sorry, it’s all my fault—I am ashamed). Oh, and BTW, we almost died when this idiot on a cell phone shoved me into the middle lane (practically killing us all—I know I’m half dead because of it), and didn’t even notice that he had done anything when we all stared him down with our angry faces. Grr… July 2 Realize it’s going to rain too much in Orlando until like Thursday—so postpone Magic Kingdom trip ‘til then, but decide to go shopping at the Mall of Florida (I’m such a girl—I spent over $200). It was a lot of fun though. Then go eat at the Polynesian resort (near Magic Kingdom) and have the best food ever created on Earth—it was amazing—I think I had a mouthorgasm or something to that effect. It was wonderful (plus we could see some of the fireworks at Disney while we ate). PS BEST FOOD EVER!!! Yeah, and we got lost trying to find it like 4 times (my fault again—yes I take the blame for everything), but luckily we got there just after our reservation time, so they still got us a table. HURRAH for yummy foods. July 3 This was probably our slowest day, kind of sat around at the pool, beach, wherever, 7/11. I think we also went out to eat at a little place on the edge of the river, where we watched birds dive into the water for their food, and a few manatees making love in the water below (eww!?!). Finally we went to the pier at Cocoa Beach (and to think I’d never really been). It was fun, the ocean is always amazing. July 4 Wet N’ Wild, it was fun, but sadly, Kindra’s swimsuit ripped, so an hour was spent shopping for a new one, and then we ended up getting rained out towards the end of the day. We did get to ride all but 2 of the group rides (which is doing pretty good)—though we didn’t get to ride the der stuka—THE SLIDE OF DEATH. But it’s soooo much fun—oh well, maybe next time. Afterwards, we ate at the world’s largest McDonald’s, where I ordered a McPizza—crazy I know. Then drove back to Satellite to eat dinner at the Lobster Shanty (Alligator Tail, Rock Shrimp, and King Crab legs—yummy). Crazy thing at the lobster shanty was when we got there, our table was in the middle of two fighting tables, a drunk lady was yelling at the other table because a baby was crying and drunkard said she “f***king hates kids”. This made the other table tell her to settle it outside (not a fight, but to go outside to be nice to us). It was all pretty crazy, but an adventure nonetheless. Fun stuff. Then finally we drove down to watch the fireworks go off behind Ron Jon’s. July 5 We spent the entire day (except for a quick dinner at a really good Chinese buffet) at Magic Kingdom. There were a few rocky starts (wrong use of fast pass, missing the turn, etc.), but all in all it was a great time. We went on a majority of the big rides there (as well as a few small ones) and got to watch the fireworks (AMAZING) and see the light parade (fun fun fun). It was extremely that much more exciting because I was with 2 girls that are all into princessy stuff, and Luke who had never been to Disney before (Kathryn had, but when she was 2 so she didn’t remember anything). So note to all those who go on trips to Disney, if you’ve been before, take someone who hasn’t—it makes it waaaaayyyyy better. I loved it. (Even with all the yelling because I plan too much—sorry it’s a habit guys). July 6 Drive Kathryn to the airport—have all the sad goodbyes and then start the trek back to BG, KY. Where we arrive around 10:30, finally home. You’d think this trip ends here, and it kind of does, but not completely. Basically I go to bed after an hour or two of hanging out with my roomies who I haven’t seen in practically 2 weeks (I miss my roomies quickly). July 7 You’re thinking, wait the trips over, why are you still talking about stuff, well that’s because one of my bestest friends is getting married. So I get up, go to breakfast with Brandon, and then head out on my next quest (I love adventure—it’s so much better than sitting at a desk and typing—like I am now—though telling a story makes it much more intriguing). So I drive all the way up to Columbia (West of St. Louis) to see Jenny Heineken become Jenny Johnson—CONGRATULATIONS JENNY!!! The wedding was great in and of itself, but it was made even better when I got to see all sorts of people that I hadn’t seen in like over 4 years or something (some more some less). I got to meet most of Micah’s (a pseudo roommate of mine) family (especially his lovely wife), and ate at the reception with them—they are such awesome people. I was on like emotion overload time when I was there. After a while I switched tables and talked with Amy, Katie, and Hollie a lot. I kind of met, kind of got to know, kind of met again, whatever you want to call it some of the other people at that table. I also got to see Jen Jones (a bridesmaid), meet Kathy Heineken (the maid of Honor—and Jenny’s mom) and meet Noel Forlini (another bridesmaid) the latter two I had heard so much about and never met, so it was cool to finally see them and talk (though very briefly) with them. Then there was the dancing, okay, well, I love to dance, but usually I like to practice a dance a lot before I do it in front of anyone. This time, I was convinced/forced/whatever by Hollie to come up and do the Cha Cha Slide (I love this song, but I’ve only ever really danced to it while sitting in a car/chair) and not in an actual group of other people doing it—especially not one where Jon Blair (who I haven’t mentioned yet—awesome guy) is taking pictures of everything—AHH!!! But, alas, I loved every bit of it, even if I did half of the moves completely wrong and didn’t practice hundreds of times before attempting it. Finally I drove back to KY (OH YEAH, I forgot to mention, that when I entered St. Louis—I went psycho crazy—my little brother can attest to that, I was on the phone with him—when I saw the big arch and all the crazy bridges. It was such a cool looking city that I had never been to before (I’m gonna get a map and put push pins on all the bigger city’s I’ve been too)). So all in all, over the course of two days (july 6-july 7) I drove through 7 states (FL, GA, TN, KY, IN, IL, MO). Good times, good times… Just to get you up to date. July 8—slept most of the day, watched harry potter movies, and hung out at the mall and sonic with Brandon (I forgot to mention I got sick when it rained on us at Wet N’ Wild am still currently trying to get over this bug). July 9-right now once again working my butt off at work trying to get everything done before I leave on the 13th for CA (going to San Fran to see Patrick, and possibly Hollie if she’s back in Oakland by then, and to LA to see my lil bro’ Ricky—who I haven’t seen since Christmas). HURRAH!!! |
